Winchester Hospital Personal Trainer Offers Custom Fitness for Healthy Living

Has your doctor told you to get some exercise to improve your health, but you don’t know where to begin? Do you have diabetes, high blood pressure, or even a weight issue, which makes you worry about starting an exercise program on your own?

Winchester Hospital’s Center for Healthy Living is offering a new fitness program taught by certified personal trainer Jo Calnan. She will work with a small group (maximum of five people) so you can receive individual attention specific to your health and fitness needs. Workouts will focus on strength training, cardio, stretching and flexibility.

The six-week program, entitled Custom Fitness for Healthy Living, will meet from 6 to 7 p.m. on Monday and Wednesday nights beginning March 25 in the cardiac rehabilitation gym at the Winchester Hospital Family Medical Center, 500 Salem St., Wilmington and will cost $150.

Jo Calnan has been a personal trainer for 15 years and has spent nearly 20 years in the fitness industry. She is gold certified by the American Council on Exercise as an Advanced Health and Fitness Specialist, which demonstrates her specific knowledge of designing fitness programs to individuals recovering from cardiovascular, pulmonary, metabolic and musculoskeletal issues.

To register for the six-week class, call 781-756-4700 or visit www.winchesterhospital.org/events. Space is limited.
