Winchester Hospital Honors Grateful Patients and their Caregivers
Winchester Hospital’s Grateful Patient Program invites patients to make a donation to the hospital in honor of a special physician, nurses and staff member who has gone above and beyond for them or a family member.
“Each and every day we are inspired by the courage of our patients. There is nothing more meaningful to those of us who work at Winchester Hospital than to know that we are providing the best care possible to our patients,” said Kevin Smith, president and CEO of Winchester Hospital. “Our Grateful Patient program is so meaningful because it exemplifies the sacred bond between patients and those who care for them.”
This spring, more than 90 Winchester Hospital physicians, nurses and caregivers, along with the patients who generously donated in their honor attended the second annual Grateful Patient luncheon. Jonathan Adler, MD and Arlan Fuller Jr., MD, clinical vice president for the integration of oncology services and academic affiliations, were two of the Winchester Hospital physicians who were honored for their excellent patient care.
“Dr. Adler is a fierce advocate for his patients,” said one of Dr. Adler’s patients. “Thank you for all that you do toward the well-being of our family and our community.”
Since the inception of the Grateful Patient program in the spring of 2011 over 250 contributions have been made and nearly 165 patients have recognized more than 135 of Winchester Hospital’s physicians and caregivers for their compassion, understanding and the exceptional care they have provided.
