| Breast Cancer Support Groups |
|
Through ongoing education and support groups, both here at our Center and throughout the communities we serve, we are working to raise awareness about breast cancer and the importance of early detection through self-breast exams, regular check-ups, mammography and risk evaluation.
The Winchester Hospital Breast Care Center offers a seven week educational support group for women who are newly diagnosed with breast cancer. This group is offered three times a year and focuses on stress management, nutrition, family support and coping skills throughout treatment and the recovery process. The center also offers an ongoing educational series for breast cancer survivors which meets five times a year to focus on topics of interest for breast cancer survivors including lymphedema, sexuality, exercise, disease recurrence and reconstruction.
For more information about ongoing support groups and access to educational resources, as well as the services available at the Winchester Hospital Breast Care Center, please call (781) 756-4760.
