Winchester Hospital Named as Boston Business Journal’s No. 1 Best Place to Work in Massachusetts
Winchester, Mass. – For the second year in a row, Winchester Hospital is the Boston Business Journal’s choice as the No. 1 Best Place to Work in Massachusetts for excellence in employee satisfaction, working conditions and company culture. The top designation places Winchester Hospital above 19 other winning companies, including Microsoft Corp., Hallmark Health System, Harvard Pilgrim Health Care and Children’s Hospital Boston.

Winchester Hospital is the first large company to win the coveted No. 1 spot two years in a row, and is one of only four companies to be recognized in all seven years of the program’s existence. This year, the Boston Business Journal chose winners from a pool of 387 nominations, the largest number in the competition’s history. Companies were ranked based on extensive employee surveys, which included questions about work environment, job satisfaction, work-life balance, support and recognition of achievement, advancement opportunities, relationships with co-workers and supervisors, management compensation and benefits.

“I have always recognized that the employees of Winchester Hospital are our most valuable asset,” said Dale Lodge, president and CEO of Winchester Hospital. “We have not been immune from this challenging economic climate, but our employees continue to rise to the occasion to make Winchester Hospital the best place to work, the best place to give care and the best place to receive care.”

Winchester Hospital, along with 59 other winners in three size categories – small (20-100 employees), midsize (101-500 employees) and large (more than 500 employees) – are listed in the special June 12-18 supplement of the Boston Business Journal.
