Free Summer Safety Event on June 12 for Children and Parents
Sponsored by Winchester Hospital & Children’s Hospital Boston
BURLINGTON, Mass. – June 8, 2009 – The Burlington Mall will host a summer safety event for children and their parents sponsored by Winchester Hospital and Children’s Hospital Boston on Friday, June 12 from 3 to 5 p.m. The event, which will teach kids ways to stay safe and have fun this summer, will take place at the Winchester Hospital & Children’s Hospital Boston Play Area located on the mall’s upper level near the food court.
Activities will include fingerprinting and child identification cards sponsored by New York Life, crafts, games and special musical performances by The Bravo Brothers. The first 100 children to arrive will receive a free prize.
“Many of us look forward to warm weather fun all year long, but parents need to be extra vigilant so their children stay safe and healthy during outdoor activities,” said Sue Powers, associate director of Winchester Hospital’s Community Health Institute.
Through a long-standing partnership, Winchester Hospital’s pediatric patients receive care onsite from Children’s Hospital Boston physicians. From pediatric emergency room doctors to neonatologists, Winchester Hospital’s youngest patients and their parents are ensured access to some of the same specialists and expert care offered in Boston.
“The summer safety event is a great resource for our customers and their families,” said Linnea Gerrior-Kelliher, director of mall marketing at Burlington Mall. “We are proud to partner with Winchester Hospital and Children’s Hospital Boston in an effort to help keep area children safe.”
