Joshua Stern, MD, a Fellowship-Trained Robotic Surgeon, Joins Medical Staff at Winchester Hospital
Winchester, Mass. – Winchester Hospital has welcomed a fellowship-trained robotic surgeon to its medical staff. A resident of Lexington, Joshua Stern, MD is practicing at Mystic Valley Urological Associates, Inc., in Stoneham.
Dr. Stern received his doctor of medicine degree with honors in research from Cornell University Weill Medical College. He received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania.
Dr. Stern completed a fellowship in minimally invasive robotic oncology at the University of Pennsylvania, where he performed more than 350 robotic kidney and prostate surgeries last year. He also completed a general surgery internship at Mount Sinai Medical Center and a residency in urology at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center.
Dr. Stern has conducted broad research in prostate cancer nanotechnology and has extensive surgical and medical experience in treating kidney stones. He is the recipient of numerous grants and honors, including the E. Darracott Vaughan Award for Excellence in Urology in 2003.
