Winchester Hospital Offers Free Joint Replacement Education Program on Nov. 18
Winchester, Mass. – While joint replacement of the hip and knee has been performed since the late 1960s, the procedures have changed dramatically in recent years with the evolution of surgical techniques, new materials and manufacturing technologies. As a result, many studies now show excellent durability of implants for up to 20 years following surgery. This improvement provides hope to patients, especially those who are younger and more active at the time of their first joint replacement.

Winchester Hospital’s Community Health Institute will present “All the Right Moves,” a free joint replacement education program, on Wednesday, Nov. 18, 5:30 to 7 p.m., at The Crestview, 36 Montvale Ave. in Woburn. The presentation will describe the latest advances in joint replacement surgery; non-surgical treatment options for arthritis and joint pain; getting the most out of rehabilitation services; and proper planning to ensure a successful outcome.

The program will be conducted by orthopedic surgeons Helene Feiler, MD and Michael Fehm, MD; Community Health Institute Director Kathleen Beyerman, RN; and physical therapist Kristen Pare, DPT.

To register for “All the Right Moves,” call 866-WIN-HOSP (866-946-4677) by Nov. 9. Light refreshments will be served. Seating is limited.
