Good Nutrition is Important to Recovery

Wholesome, nourishing and well-balanced meals are an important part of your treatment and recovery. Winchester Hospital makes every effort to provide nutritious meals prepared according to your doctor’s orders.

As a patient at Winchester Hospital, you will be visited each day by a member of our Food and Nutrition team, who will:
  • Introduce our services
  • Help you with your meal selection
  • Deliver meals and snacks to you throughout the day

If a family member would like to dine with you, he or she may order guest meals at an additional charge. Before making your meal selection, please inform a member of your health care team if you have a food allergy.

Hours for Meals

The usual serving times for patient meals are:
  • Breakfast: between 7:30 and 9 a.m.
  • Lunch: between 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m.
  • Dinner: between 4:30 and 6 p.m.

If a meal must be delayed due to your medical circumstances, our diet associate or technician will make every effort to arrange a late meal for you.

Food for Patients

Visitors should check with the nurse before bringing food or drink to patients to ensure that it is appropriate based on their medical condition and needs.

Integrative Therapies

To complement our excellent medical and surgical services, Winchester Hospital offers alternative therapies, including acupuncture, hypnotherapy, massage therapy, yoga and more.

Weight Management

Winchester Hospital is committed to providing the most effective weight management programs and, when appropriate, the most advanced treatment for weight loss surgery.

Rehabilitation Services

Winchester Hospital offers a variety of rehabilitation services – including cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation as well as physical, occupational and speech therapy – to help you get back to your normal routine.
