Nursing Leadership

Enhancing Nursing Practice at Winchester Hospital

“We consistently hear from patients and families whose lives have been forever changed by their interactions with a nurse at Winchester Hospital,” says Kathy Schuler, chief nursing officer and vice president for patient care services. “It is a result of this nursing expertise, caring and collaboration with others throughout the hospital, that we have been recognized for providing high-quality health care and an outstanding patient experience.  I am proud of our exceptional nursing staff and consider every nurse a leader and valuable member of our team.”

This philosophy leads to high-quality patient care by Winchester Hospital nurses who have developed a strong professional practice environment and engage in numerous professional activities. Our patient satisfaction scores and awards and recognition are evidence of this excellence.

Over the years, our nurses have served in statewide and national nursing roles. They are well educated and highly experienced. Nearly all of our nurses have been with us for many years – and often for decades. Their average tenure is 11 years, a testament to their satisfaction with the professional practice environment of Winchester Hospital.
