How Many Calories Do You Need?
Many people struggle to lose weight or maintain a healthy weight. If you are one of them, do you really know how many calories you need each day? Having an accurate calorie budget is a tool that can help you set an achievable weight goal.
The MedGem® is a handheld device that determines an individual’s resting metabolic rate (RMR), which is the number of calories a person burns over a 24-hour period while at rest.
The MedGem® test is easy. Simply breathe into the device for 10 to 15 minutes to get an accurate measure of your RMR. After the test is completed, a registered dietitian uses the results to calculate your individual calorie needs and discusses what it will take to reach or maintain your healthy weight goal.
The fee for this service is $75 per test. For more information or to schedule an appointment, call 781-396-6221, ext. 2.
