Winchester Hospital Receives Grant from Cummings Foundation

Winchester Hospital receives $250,000 in funding from Cummings Foundation.

Winchester, MA (Nov. 23, 2015) – Winchester Hospital recently received confirmation of $250,000 in funding from Cummings Foundation. This grant is part of a multi-year commitment totaling $500,000 through the Woburn-based foundation’s Major Grants program.

“We are very grateful to Cummings Foundation for this generous grant and their continued commitment to Winchester Hospital and our patients,” said Maribeth Canning, vice president of the Winchester Hospital Foundation.

Grant funding will support the Soiree for Hope, Winchester Hospital’s annual fundraiser to support cancer care services, as well as the James F. McDonough, MD Golf Classic, which supports nursing education and scholarships. In addition, the funds will be invested in Winchester Hospital’s Maternal Child Health Unit, which delivers more than 2,000 babies each year.

Winchester Hospital is one of 11 local nonprofits that have received funding through Cummings Foundation’s invitation-only Major Grants program, which began in 2014. Other local beneficiaries include Winchester Multicultural Network and Winchester Seniors Association.

Cummings Properties President and CEO Dennis Clarke, a Winchester resident and past chair of Winchester Hospital's Business Partners program, said, “For decades, Winchester Hospital has provided highly skilled and compassionate care in the community where our employees and clients live and work. We are so pleased to recognize and support Winchester Hospital and the Business Partners Program through a major grant.”

“We value the strong partnerships Winchester Hospital has with Cummings Properties and Cummings Foundation. With their generous support, we will continue to provide the best possible care to the nearly 400,000 area residents we serve,” said Dale Lodge, CEO of Winchester Hospital.
