Arlan Fuller, MD named Family Chair of Women’s Health

Burlington, MA (March 16, 2017) – Lahey Health has named Winchester Hospital physician Arlan F. Fuller, MD, to the newly created Telemachus and Irene Demoulas Family Chair for Women’s Health. Dr. Fuller is the Clinical Vice President for Oncology Services Integration and Academic Affiliations at Winchester Hospital, a member of Lahey Health.

The Telemachus and Irene Demoulas Family Foundation endowed the new chair to honor Dr. Fuller and promote women’s health throughout the Lahey Health system. As the chair’s first incumbent, Dr. Fuller will pursue the goal of enhancing collaboration between primary care physicians and specialists in the many disciplines that contribute to the high quality of women’s health care in the Lahey system.

“For decades, the Demoulas family has witnessed Dr. Fuller’s extraordinary commitment to patient care and recognized his exceptional reputation among his patients and colleagues worldwide,” said Howard R. Grant, JD, MD, President and CEO, Lahey Health. “The gift is especially fitting, as Lahey Health and Market Basket serve the same geographic area and share a commitment to quality and value.”

Dr. Fuller is board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology with a subspecialty in gynecologic oncology. Before joining Winchester Hospital in 2007, he was Chief of Gynecologic Oncology at Massachusetts General Hospital from 1985-2007. He has also served on the staffs of the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, Mount Auburn Hospital and North Shore Medical Center.

Dr. Fuller is a nationally-recognized leader in the field of gynecologic oncology who was awarded the Massachusetts Medical Society’s 2015 Women’s Health Research Award for his outstanding contributions to women’s health research in the Commonwealth.

“I am honored to be named the first incumbent of the Demoulas Family Chair, which will enhance the quality of women’s health throughout our system for generations to come,” said Dr. Fuller.
