Baby New Year

Winchester Hospital Welcomes First Baby of the New Year

When Jennifer Ryan went to Winchester Hospital on New Year’s Eve she thought it would just be for a checkup. Baby New Year

The soon-to-be first time mom noticed her baby, who was due on Jan. 5, wasn’t moving as much as it had been, so she headed in to make sure everything was okay. When she arrived at the hospital, her OB/GYN, Donald Druga, MD, recommended that Jennifer stay the night and deliver her baby the next morning.

At 10:20 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 1, Edward “Tedy” Ryan was born to Jennifer and Jon Ryan of Billerica. He weighed 8 pounds, 15 ounces and was 20.5 inches long.

“Holding our baby for the first time was awesome,” Jennifer said. “It’s a feeling you can never imagine. We both fell in love with him immediately.”

The new parents expressed their gratitude to the Winchester Hospital team. “The staff has been wonderful. We’re so appreciative of everyone.”
