  • The Leapfrog Group's Hospital Safety Score - Since the onset of the Hospital Safety Score in Spring 2012, the publicly available data showed Winchester Hospital has consistently exceeded the standards of other medical institutions in terms of patient safety procedures in place, earning it a Straight A’s distinction. Leapfrog Hospital Safety Score
  •  Nurses Improving Care for Healthsystem Elders Accreditation - Winchester Hospital has achieved NICHE designation. NICHE is a national initiative based at the Hartford Institute for Geriatric Nursing at New York University designed to facilitate the adoption of evidence-based geriatric best practices throughout institutions to improve nursing care for older adult patients.NICHE Logo

  • HealthGrades Outstanding Patient Experience Award 2014 - For the seventh year in a row, Winchester Hospital received the Outstanding Patient Experience Award™ from HealthGrades®, the leading independent health care ratings organization, which ranks Winchester Hospital among the top 10 percent of hospitals nationwide. 

  • Boston Business Journal’s Best Places to Work 2014 - For the twelfth consecutive year, Winchester Hospital was named to the Boston Business Journal’s Best Places to Work in Massachusetts list making Winchester Hospital the only hospital to be named to the list every year since the inception of this award. The hospital ranked No. 9 in the large company category.

  • Becker's Hospital Review 2013: Becker's Hospital Review named Winchester Hospital to its annual list of 100 Great Places to Work in Healthcare.

  • The Joint Commission National Quality Approval 2013 - Winchester Hospital and Winchester Home Care received accreditation from The Joint Commission.

  • American Nurses Credentialing Center Magnet Recognition -  Winchester Hospital was re-designated in 2013 with Magnet® recognition for its nursing excellence by the American Nurses Credentialing Center making it the first hospital in the state to be designated three times.

  • Beacon Award for Excellence™  - Winchester Hospital's Intensive Care Unit was recognized in 2013 with the Beacon Award for Excellence™ by the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses.

  • Bariatric Surgery Center of Excellence - Winchester Hospital was redesignated in 2013 as a Bariatric Surgery Center of Excellence by the Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Accreditation and Quality Improvement Program.

  • Blue Distinction® Center+ in Knee and Hip Replacement - Winchester Hospital was designated in 2013 as a Blue Distinction® Center+ in Knee and Hip Replacement by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts.

  • College of American Pathologists and American Association of Blood Banks accreditations – Winchester Hospital's laboratories and respiratory therapy department received a maximum two-year accreditation from the College of American Pathologists in 2013. In addition, the Blood Bank earned a maximum two-year accreditation from the American Association of Blood Banks.

  • American Academy of Sleep Medicine accreditation - Winchester Hospital’s Sleep Disorders Center was accredited in 2013 by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine.

  • Aetna Institute of Quality® designation - Winchester Hospital was designated an Aetna Institute of Quality® Orthopedic Care Facility in 2013 for total joint replacement.
