Childbirth Classes

These classes are designed to meet the needs of expectant parents. The focus is on labor processes, including relaxation and breathing techniques, stages of labor and comfort measures.

Remote learning options can be found on the Events Calendar.

Hypnotherapy and Childbirth Session

Hypnosis is an altered state of consciousness that expecting mothers, and their partners, can use to help reduce fear and tension.  The session will teach how self-hypnosis works and how to utilize it in the weeks leading up to the due date and during the labor and delivery process.  This tool can be used by both partners to stay calm and focused on positive imagery.  You will receive an audio recording to practice before your delivery. $85 per session. Call 781-756-4700 for more information or to schedule an appointment.

Prenatal Breastfeeding Class

Provides education, information and support for women who are considering breastfeeding. The class is taught by registered nurses who are also International Board Certified Lactation Consultants (IBCLC). This is an online/remote class. Visit the Events Calendar to register.

Outpatient Lactation Center

Our Outpatient Lactation Center, located in the Center for Healthy Living, is open to all prospective and new mothers in our community. Our board-certified (IBCLC) lactation consultant, who is also a registered nurse, is available for individual consultations.  Insurance is accepted for these office visits.  The Center also runs the Lactation Boutique, which carries quality breastfeeding products and supplies at a reasonable price. To schedule a consultation or contact the boutique, please call 781-756-4788.

Nursing Mother Support Group

The weekly Nursing Mothers’ Support Group will be held online through Zoom. This virtual, free group is offered every Wednesday from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm. For login information, click on an upcoming Wednesday on our Events Calendar and look for Nursing Mothers’ Support Group - Virtual Meeting.

Breastfeeding mothers and their babies gather each week with a certified lactation consultant (IBCLC) who is also a registered nurse to ask general breastfeeding questions, meet other breastfeeding mothers, and gain breastfeeding support and information from each other. You can call the main line at 781-756-4700 for more information.
