Early Detection Saves Lives
At Winchester Hospital, we know that early detection of breast cancer saves lives. Women over age 40 should have a clinical breast examination by a health care professional and a mammogram every year and should continue to do so for as long as they are in good health. Our mammography screening sites not only have flexible hours, but also highly-trained and skilled physicians and staff.
All exams performed at our mammography centers are read by two radiologists, underscoring our commitment to quality. Additionally, we’re focused on meeting the unique needs of women by making your visit comfortable and convenient.
We use the most advanced digital imaging technology to perform more than 29,000 mammograms annually. All of our screening sites are licensed by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health Radiation Control Program and are U.S. Food and Drug Administration certified mammography facilities.

Winchester Hospital's Breast Care Center is fully accredited by the American College of Radiology as a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence (BICOE) and by the American College of Surgeons as a National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC) offering digital mammography, including digital breast tomosynthesis (3D mammo), breast biopsies and on-site surgeons, radiologists and oncologists.
