Junior Volunteer Information

Our Junior Volunteer Program at Winchester Hospital

Winchester Hospital has one of the largest junior volunteer programs in the state. Junior volunteers ages 14 through 18 can be found throughout the hospital, performing interesting and significant work as Junior Messengers.

We see it as our mission to introduce young people not only to community service at Winchester Hospital, but also to careers in health care. Our high school volunteers are an important part of our hospital, and we train and support them every step of the way.

Why Volunteer?

As the famous writer and philosopher Kahlil Gibran said, “You give but little when you give of your possessions. It is when you give of yourself that you truly give.”

As a junior volunteer, not only can you feel good about your services, but you also will:

Types of Junior Volunteer Work

  • Transport patients by wheelchair
